Google’s core update back in August shook up SEO for quite a few businesses. One unexpected, but positive shift was a re-allocation of content weighting emphasis towards Image and Product searches for businesses that run strong on product content.
After the core update, one of my clients experienced a drop in long-tail, non-business-value Web impressions, but found themselves with an increase in high-value, image searches.
This shift lead to more click throughs, and an overall increase in organic business leads that persists to this day.
While there appeared to be a drop on one side, there was a healthy rise on the other.
