For the past couple of years, I’ve been growing my own little startup in the eco-friendly apparel/home goods space, while also running various departments for other small businesses and startups in Bend and surrounding Central Oregon.
During this time, I’ve had the opportunity to dive headfirst into operations, marketing, and community building, all while navigating the needs of an ever-changing landscape of new tech platforms (Shopify, Amazon, Faire, TikTok, ChatGPT, GA4, Reels, etc.).
Much has changed over the last few years! Business is conducted differently, and tech has evolved. For sales, a majority of consumers are shopping from their phones, and introduced to your brand through social media or an online marketplaces, yielding an entirely different customer experience.
I like to work with a clean marriage of front-end metrics combined with back-end accountability: Inventory Mangement Systems, Web Analytics, CRMs, Budget v Actual Forecasting, Cohort Analysis, etc.
In 2023, staff retention and recruitment are ever-growing challenges. Employees are looking for more flexible work environments, all while aiming to stay productive and feel part of an inclusive team. It’s important they feel heard by co-workers, managers, and the organization as a whole.
